Trisha, the (up-until-the-middle-of-March) registrar at the high school has become a good friend of mine and Brandon's, so I was quite pleased when I was invited to the baby shower the counselors and a few staff members had for her. I had some blankets already made for her sweet little baby, so I packed up her gift and the boys and headed to the high school.
They had breakfast all laid out (bagels, cream cheese, grapes, strawberries, pineapple . . . It was yummy!), so I grabbed some food for me and Connor and ate to my hearts content. (Have I mentioned that I LOVE strawberries? I do.)
She opened gifts while we ate, and was very happy with ours. I've started putting satin blanket binding around some of my blankets - it makes it look a little more fancy. It was fun to make these for her (and her daughter, of course), and now that she gets to be a stay at home mom, I'm looking forward to many park outings.
Congrats, Josh and Trisha! She's absolutely beautiful.
"Did you make this? It's beautiful!"
(Her words. Seriously.)
The adorable little outfit I got for baby Alexis
And the sweater to go over it when it's chilly outside
The other blanket - yellow and pink stars
(This is the kind I normally do, only I put some satin blanket binding around it. My mom says it makes it look a little more professional.)
The green material is the really soft fuzzy material. Connor's favorite. I've made a few of these types of blankets for friends. I'm branching out a little, I guess. :)

You are so amazing! Love the satin!
These are gorgeous, Renee!! I think I need some lessons. Rag quilts are my style these days. :) I love the edge binding. Your mom is right, it makes them look really professional and beautiful.
