So, movie afternoon/night didn't happen. B came home from school with an earache, and it just got worse as the evening progressed. So, he and I ended up at the InstaCare to get his ear checked out. It seems like we were just doing this a few weeks ago - oh, wait, we were! One month ago - Feb. 23! What a co-inky-dink! *sigh*
Anyway, he does have another ear infection (or maybe it's the same one that never fully cleared up) in his right ear, so the dr. gave him a prescription for a stronger antibiotic to kill the infection. We got to the pharmacy and left it to be filled, did our shopping, then went back to pick it up, only to find out that the price of this stronger medicine was *gasp* $33.20!!! And, that was after the insurance picked up $103 - something off the original price! Yikes! Medicine that B will take twice a day (just barely over 1/2 a teaspoon - 3 ml), for ten days, and it costs $136 market price! Yikes!
I had the pharmacist call the dr. back to see if there was something different (and cheaper) that we could do, but there wasn't anything that wouldn't cause horrible side effects in a little 6 year old boy! So, we swallowed our shock, and paid the $33 for his medicine.
After that, I treated him to Clucker Dunkers at Village Inn. And hot chocolate! Yummy!

I've had a couple of 'what the crap!' perscriptions before, they are the worst, but you have to get them most the time, blah! You're such a nice mommy to treat him to clucker dunkers ;) I hope he gets better soon, and you too!
You deserve big points for taking him out for a treat after dragging your nauseous (sp?)-filled self to the dr. for his ears.
What a good mommy.
That just happened to us too. Carter's Rx was $30 for his antibiotics. Maybe they have the same one! I hope he feels better soon!
